Slope House
Slope House
Location
Villa de Leyva
Year
2020
Type
New Construction
Technique
Rammed earth
Built area
480 m²
The site drops nearly four meters from the road to the back edge of the lot, which decided most of the design before we drew a single wall. Instead of cutting and leveling the ground, we let the house step down with it, the pool and deck sit a full level below the main living space, connected by an outdoor corridor. Rammed earth handles the retaining work along the slope; timber and lighter finishes take over where the house opens up to the view.
