The house had been empty for close to fifteen years when we started. Half the roof structure had failed, the stone walls were intact but buried under decades of poor repairs, and nothing about the plumbing or electrical could stay. We stripped it back to what was structurally sound (the stone, most of the original openings) and rebuilt the rest to match, including a new pool that reads as if it had always been part of the courtyard.
