Technique
Rammed earth
Built area
340 m²
A new house built to read as if it had always been there. The clients wanted a pool and an open kitchen that could handle real entertaining, but nothing that would fight with the tapia walls or the timber roof structure. We kept the massing low, ran the pool along the edge of the courtyard instead of through the middle of it, and let the kitchen open directly onto the covered terrace, so the modern parts of the house never feel bolted on.
